The Camlachie Shoreline Restoration Project was a comprehensive initiative designed to address significant erosion challenges along a stretch of shoreline spanning over 1,000 linear feet. This project involved the installation of steel seawalls and steel groynes across 10 different properties, each facing severe erosion due to a lack of adequate shoreline protection and deteriorating groynes. In addition to the primary seawall and groyne structures, the project included the construction of various secondary retaining walls—ranging from White Oak timber retaining walls to robust armour stone and concrete splash aprons—ensuring long-term stability and protection for the affected properties.
Gordon’s Shoreline Marine began mobilizing equipment in mid-March 2021, and the entire project was completed by September 2021, efficiently adhering to a tight timeline. The team worked closely around the schedules of the homeowners, showing exceptional flexibility when one property had a wedding planned. In fact, the majority of the work was completed prior to the wedding date, and additional accommodations were made to ensure the event was not disrupted. Gordon’s Shoreline Marine provided temporary access mats for the property and installed solid fencing around the backyard, allowing the homeowners to host their special day without concern.
The Camlachie project exemplifies Gordon’s Shoreline Marine's commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, environmental sensitivity, and client-centered service, delivering a lasting solution to shoreline erosion while respecting the unique needs and schedules of each homeowner involved.
