Gordon's Shoreline Marine was awarded the contract to rebuild the Highland Glen Boat Launch on Lake Huron in Plympton-Wyoming, a critical project aimed at revitalizing this popular access point for boaters. The team provided a comprehensive, start-to-finish service, ensuring every aspect of the project was expertly managed from design to completion.
Our team began with detailed coastal engineering to develop a plan that would enhance the durability and functionality of the boat launch while preserving the surrounding natural environment. We then navigated the permitting process, working closely with essential government agencies, including the St. Clair Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources, and the Department of Oceans and Fisheries, to secure all necessary approvals and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The construction phase involved several key tasks. First, the deteriorated breakwall surrounding the perimeter of the boat launch was partially replaced to restore its structural integrity and prevent further erosion. We also focused on repairing and replacing broken or missing sections of the seawall, ensuring the long-term stability of the launch area. Additionally, the boat launch itself required dredging to remove sediment buildup and create a safer, more accessible area for boaters to launch and dock their vessels.
By managing every aspect of the project, Gordon's Shoreline Marine was able to deliver a fully restored boat launch that now provides safe, reliable access to Lake Huron, benefiting both the local community and visitors for years to come.
